CA’ASI exhibits Young European Architects, one of the collateral events of the 17th Biennale Architettura from May 22nd to November 21st, 2021.
Following the success of the New Chinese Architecture competition in 2010, the Young Arab Architects in 2012, the Young Architects in Africa in 2014 and the Young Architects in Latin America, Architecturestudio organized this year the Young European Architects competition to support a young generation of architects in an approach of international recognition.
The exhibition falls under the theme "How will we live together?" proposed by the curator of this 17th edition, Hashim Sarkis. Through this event the CA’ASI opens its doors to young architects who play a significent role in the search for innovative solutions to improve the ways of living on our fragile planet.
Given the high quality and multitude of the entries received - and for methodological reasons - it seemed to us necessary to analyse them on the basis of certain convergences. The role played by young architects in our society, the challenges their achievements generate and the ideas they propose to their community, have inspired the following thematic series that have inspired our reflections and animated our discussions:

3. LIVING TOGETHER; SHARING THE COMMON GOOD
4. HERITAGE OR “RE-EVALUATING MEMORIES”
5. ZERO BORDERS : “INCLUSIVENESS IN DEMOCRATIC
SOCIETIES”
6. IN SEARCH OF “WRITING DEGREE ZERO”
7. TOWARDS AN ENVIRONMENTAL REPARATION
8. CLAIMING “CAPABLE SPACE”
9. EXPERIENCING THE LANDSCAPE
From a total of 229 entries received, 3 projects have been awarded prizes by an international jury, 16 mentioned have been awarded and a total of 74 projects have been selected for the exhibition. Shaken by the pandemic, inspired by the ways of sharing that have united us this year, out of respect for the quality of the language, the commitment and the poetry of these works, we have decided to present the projects in the CA’ASI, with the common house taking the place of a screen. This same screen has allowed us to keep in touch, everywhere, on our planet, that has become even more fragile.
